Rotary International Attendance Policy states that a member who misses 4 consecutive meetings has “rotated out” of Rotary. What to do if this happens to you? The world does not end! You will, however, need to submit a request to the board of directors requesting reinstatement into the club. This can be done by mail to Rotary Club of Harlingen, P.O. Box 1987, Harlingen, Tx 78551 or by e-mail to Brian Borchardt at borchardt21@worldnet.att.net. Call Brian at 389-1614 if you have any questions or you would like to get a sample letter. How do you know if you have missed 4 in a row? You will receive a call from Donna Bonner, Jo Liston or Brian Borchardt.
To avoid this, you can makeup two weeks before or two weeks after any miss or expected miss. Even if you’ve missed 4 in a row, you still can make up your 4th miss up to 2 weeks after. We are on the honor system when it comes to make-ups, so if you see that your make-up has not been recorded, then you can mark the appropriate day with a X on our sign-in sheet.
