Pres. Glenn Hill               Final Club Update

Pres. Glenn Hill addressed our club this past week.  Since this was his last full meeting as President, he gave us an overview of the club’s accomplishments for 2007/2008. He reported that most, if not all, of the clubs goals had been met or exceeded.  He thanked all of the club members, more specifically his board of directors, for all of their hard work and dedication. As a token of his appreciation, he presented each board member with a plaque.

Hosting a Youth Exchange student from another country can be a wonderful experience. It allows a host family to become familiar with another culture and provides the opportunity to share a young student’s hopes and ambitions. Youth Exchange promises to enrich the lives of the student and every member of your family.

This year, our club would like to host an exchange student.  But, in order to do so, we must have “host families” willing to house the student.  If anyone is interested in becoming a host family, please contact Jim Teeter@ 421-2861.

Russell Cain looks forward to Rotary year

I am looking forward to sharing Rotary with all of you and serving as your District Governor 2008-09. Addressing child mortality and issues of disease attributed to contaminated water, poor sanitation, hunger, and literacy is our challenge from Rotary International President D.K. Lee. This is an enormous task but one I am sure the global world of Rotary can accomplish. As Rotarians we will help prevent the needless deaths of children.

District 5930 can lead the way to MAKE DREAMS REAL.

District Officers 2008 - 09:

Nancy Ross – secretary (Corpus Christi)
Ann Cunningham – Treasurer (Port Lavaca)
Gilbert Serna – Lt. District Governor (Laredo)
JD Simpson – Conference Chairman 2009
